The Technology in Space Prize, funded by Boeing and the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space, has selected startups Symphony Bio and FluxWorks to receive funding. Symphony Bio will develop a new cancer treatment that harnesses the immune system, while FluxWorks aims to create noncontact magnetic gearboxes. Both will utilize the International Space Station’s microgravity environment to further their research and technology development. The startups were awarded a total of $630,000 and join a growing community of researchers leveraging the ISS National Lab for space-based research. Many past recipients of the prize have gone on to secure additional funding.
