Egyptian e-health startup Chefaa has raised $5.25 million in funding to accelerate its growth and expansion in Saudi Arabia. Chefaa is a patient-centric pharmacy benefits platform that allows users to easily order, schedule, and refill prescriptions. It currently connects over one million monthly active users to over 1,100 pharmacies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The funding round was co-led by South Africa’s Newtown Partners and Japan’s Global Brain, with participation from several other investors. Chefaa plans to use the funds to scale its operations in Saudi Arabia and continue designing new services and features to meet market needs.
