Anthropic AI startup in talks for $750M raise at $15B valuation.

AI startup Anthropic is in discussions to raise $750 million in new funding on a valuation of $15 billion. Menlo Ventures is expected to lead the round, but neither Anthropic nor Menlo Ventures has commented on the report. Anthropic, founded in 2020 by former researchers from OpenAI, develops generative AI software. Its most recent model, Claude 2, can generate marketing copy, solve mathematical problems, and turn natural language prompts into software code. The startup’s ability to process prompts containing 100,000 tokens sets it apart from competitors like OpenAI’s GPT-4, which can only process 8,000 tokens. Anthropic has already raised significant funding in previous rounds, including a $124 million Series A round and a $450 million Series C round. The new funding round is expected to increase the startup’s valuation to $18 billion or more.
