$10M raised by Industrial Painting Robots Startup

PaintJet, a robotics startup that specializes in industrial painting robots, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round. The company’s robots automate the process of painting commercial buildings, addressing labor shortages in the industry. The funding will be used to relocate its headquarters to Virginia and support its expansion into ship-based projects. PaintJet’s robots can not only prevent rust and corrosion on ships but also stop the attachment of mollusks, algae, and fungus to the bottom of a boat. The company’s latest innovations include the Bravo robotic painter, which optimizes paint use and reduces operational costs, and the Alpha Shield paint, which minimizes exposure to toxic chemicals. The funding round was led by Outsiders Fund, with participation from other investors.
