Minneapolis startup Camperoni has developed a platform to simplify the process of registering children for summer camps. Founders Erin Anderson and Meredith Englund created the technology after experiencing difficulties when booking camps for their own children. Anderson compared camp registration to a college application form, stating that parents have to meet registration deadlines, ensure the camp falls within their budget, coordinate pick-up and drop-off times, and take into account their child’s special interests. Anderson and Englund teamed up with tech entrepreneur Vasilis Geogitzikis to create a centralized platform that aggregates information about Twin Cities camps. The Camperoni website allows parents to search for camps using filters such as age, date, location, and length of camp. The platform is currently free for both parents and camps, but the founders plan to introduce a premium subscription model. Camperoni currently has 5,000 registered users and received $300,000 in funding in a recent angel round.
