Croatia’s Infobip fuels 300 startups with €1.8 million mega-boost.

Croatia-based cloud communications platform, Infobip, has supported more than 300 start-ups from 64 countries with over €1.8 million worth of products and services via its Startup Tribe Programme. Launched in May 2021, the programme provides financial aid and infrastructure support to start-ups, allowing them to focus on the development and growth of their businesses. Notable applications received include those from sectors such as software-as-a-service (SaaS), fintech, e-commerce, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), amongst others.

• Infobip’s Startup Tribe Programme helps start-ups build and manage their customer engagement strategy and grow their business by providing up to €60,000 in credits for Infobip’s services along with access to its global network of advisors, investors, and accelerators.
• Infobip has received over 740 applications from 300 cities worldwide, with business sectors including software-as-a-service (SaaS), fintech, ecommerce, AI, ML, marketing tech, edtech, tech media and telco firms.
• The programme is supported by 125 partners from 43 countries, including venture capitalists, accelerators, incubators and others.

The Startup Tribe Programme has eliminated the need for start-ups to build a global communications infrastructure from scratch, enabling them to devote resources to product development and business scaling. According to Infobip, startups in the programme favoured email, followed by WhatsApp and SMS for communication, with other popular platforms including Messenger, Voice, Viber, and MMS.

As of date, the programme has received more than 740 applications from start-ups in 105 countries. SaaS companies were the leading applicants with over 80 applications, followed by fintech and e-commerce businesses with 70 and 40 applications respectively. Reflecting the growing interest in AI and ML, Infobip also received more than 30 applications from firms in this sector.

Around 125 partners from 43 countries currently support the programme’s startups. The partners include 92 venture capitalists, 16 accelerators, four incubators, three corporate venture capitalists, one family office, and one angel syndicate, among others.
